It's 7:20 am and we're sitting in the lobby of the Almaty Airport, waiting for our hop up to Petropavlovsk. According to the computer clock, it's 8:20 pm, still Sep 27th, back in Memphis.
By the way, watch the weight of bags. We're flying Kokshetau airlines up to Petro and had to weigh EVERYTHING, including carry-on. Hmmm, 54 kg "excess" at 269KZT/kg... But we have all our stuff and are on our way. We did have a very nice gate agent who helped us through the process and mothered us along until time to get on the plane.

Hello from Amsterdam! It's 4:45 am Memphis time. We landed about an hour ago then wandered to the lounge/hotel area.
Since we have such a long layover, almost 7 hours, we opted for a hotel room. We'll get our showers then head down to the shopping area and leave a little time for a nap.
